Rose!
Yasir[crazy]forwarded
An elderly couple had dinner at another couple’s house, and after eating, the wives left the table and went into the kitchen. The two gentlemen were talking, and one said, “Last night we went out to a new restaurant and it was really great. I would recommend it very highly.”
The other man said, “What is the name of the restaurant?”
The first man thought and thought and finally said, “What is the name of that flower you give to someone you love? You know… the one that’s red and has thorns.”
“Do you mean a rose?”
“Yes, that’s the one,” replied the man. He then turned towards the kitchen and yelled, “Rose, what’s the name of that restaurant we went to last night?”

Why don’t people talk to me in PHP instead? I ain’t English and despite belonging to urdu-speaking cult I’m losing my control over Urdu for last few years. And Punjabi’s only good for fight, abuse and shout.
the night that was

humidity and dreary eyes glued to dusty screen. down there someone kicks the door hard twice. “bastards here at last!” another kick. “your father won’t pay the repair” cones, beanies, rosaries, laughs and curses. suddenly night’s young and blissful. 32 more minutes. bliss has a strange way of overtaking all senses and time-consciousness. *clock chimes, mobiles ring* foam, cake and laughs. *click click* some indian filmi music is playing on that big screen. I sense a strong impulse that’s as bad as me. umar after all doesn’t look that old.
“teri akhyaan da teer mahiya sohneya, nishanay uttay tich wajjeya” no music seems appropriate at this point in time. until that one. aamer takes a wild right and bhatti almost fell off. airport is as usual full and devoid of life. “bhatti yahan kahin bhi umra nahi hota!” and bhatti plays more indifferent than he owed. loud cheers and wishes and onlookers dubiously suggesting with eye movements. my glasses’ screw driver broke due to constant flickers. i couldn’t care more. i must have some other night!
a crazy thought

The only break I have during long-working-night-hours is a 15 minutes break to have milkshake at the nearest juice corner. I feel I’m more suppressed than your common bhatta mazdoor!
haha!

Talha shares a joke, a very eloquent one, here. And I heard someone a while back paying tribute to Bush’s Theory of Relativity:
“Where there is Oil, there are Weapons of Mass Destructions!”
Tere ishq nachaya..
Yasir[serious]poked
Sometimes, somebody smiles at you and you feel like iss ki bateesi nikal doon! Happened to me today actually. Smile can be that cruel/sarcastic, I had never imagined before. At other times, it’s totally the opposite; you fall just by hearing someone over phone. Aamer is down these days – slightly recovered from the shock but nevertheless down – and the air is all gloomy around. Because of him, of course. We watched Rehna hai tere dil mein consecutively for two days. But the most exciting piece in the lastest happenings was the sufi night festival at Alhamra Open Air. I never thought my voice – in fact it was almost a shout – can actually break through thousands of people but how could I have left the place without requesting Abida Parveen sing my favorite tere ishq nachaya. It was fantabulous! Surreal! ‘Your love makes dance’ and I get lost!
I’m not song-type banda, but I would lament not sharing one of my all-time favorites:
Long Gone Day by Mad Season
So much blood I’m starting to drown
Runs from cold to colder
Time to time the sky’s come down
To help me lose my way
Tears and lies for answers
You and open veins, God knows I’m gone
Girl I just want you to
Come on down
Lord it’s a storm and I’m heading to fall
These sins are mine and I’ve done wrong, oh babe
Come on down
Long Gone Day
Mmmm, who ever said
We wash away with the rain
See you all from time to time
Isn’t it so strange
How far away we all are now
Am I the only one who remembers that summer
Oh, I remember
Everyday each time the place was saved
The music that we made
The wind has carried all of that away
Long gone day
Mmmm, who ever said
We wash away with the rain
So many tears I’m starting to drown
The rain in heaven’s all come down
Silver spoons affix the crown
The luckless ones are broken
Fears and lies for answers
You and open flames
God knows I’m gone
And I just want you to
Come on down, hmmm
Lord it’s a storm and I’m heading to fall
These sins are mine and I’ve done wrong
I want you to, oh, I just want you to
Come on down
I fear again, like then, I’ve lost my way
And shout to God to bring my sunny day

I thought hard over my existence and then…
..I fainted!
